Secret meeting?

Monday, November 30th, 2009

I just visited DNA sunglasses in Tokyo.  They had many different new design for the next year and we discussed what fishermen need from sunglasses.  They will be working on those topics and come with new design for the 2010 Fishing show in Tokyo.

I liked their new idea of having a regular glassed quality into sunglasses so there will not be any differences between my eye glasses and sunglasses.

Look at these baits!  They are made by Japanese hand crafters.

I visited one of the unique tackle shop in Japan.  The Head hunters shop carries many different lures and reels that no other shop carry.

I could spend hours in the shop here.

I also saw Shimano Final Dimension rod!  They had my favorite crankbaits rod 1610MLF.  This rod should fit perfectly to throw these baits!

If you are interested in unique lures, Head hunters in Narita city, Japan should be the place to visit!  I am sure that you will find your favorite baits here.

Bank fishing in Japan

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

I went to a few lakes near Tokyo.  It was a beautiful day and there were many bank fishermen.  I have not seen this many people recently in Japan, so I was happy about that.

These people were walking on the concrete banks and catch bass! Most of them were using soft plastics, but some of them were throwing a big baits.

This water outlet area was very popular that carp fishermen and bass fishermen shared the spot.  This is the typical bank fishing scenery in Japan.

Nice lake Biwa bass!!

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

I have been fishing lake Biwa last few days.  It is such beautiful place.  Here, I caught a nice bass in front of Japanese temple on the water!!

DSCF0008

This healthy looking bass hit Jackall Muscle deep 15 with 50 pound braided line.  There were a lot of grass in this area and I had to use the heavy duty line in order to make this bait go through the grass.  Lake Biwa fishes like Lake Guntersville in the US.  It has a lot of milfoil, hydrilla and some other grasses.

Here, I am with the 08 Winning team and new 09 winning team, Lime Green!

08 defending champion team finished 4th this year.  New team Lime Green was fishing manmade concrete structure near the main channel of the river.  I saw them fishing with hard baits and followed with finesse rigs from the back seat to catch their limit.

Congratulations for team Lime Green!!  They told me that they are ready for the Basscat Invitational in 2010 spring!!

I would like to thank all the people who came to this event, and thank you very much for all sponsors!!

Fishing with Derek

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

I have been playing tennis with Derek recently.  He is a police officer in town and he loves fishing, too.  We went fishing and he was struggling to catch a good fish with crankbaits in the beginning, but after a few hours, he started to catching spotted bass.

We were caranking the shallow flat and spinnerbaiting bank.  They bit well in the afternoon in shallow water with soft plastics like Flick shake.

It was a beautiful day in fall.  I hope weather will stay like this for a while.
